Partnership Introduction...
The Northern Ireland Post Qualifying Education and Training Partnership (NIPQETP) is incorporated with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council, which is responsible for regulation and standards within the social work and social care workforce in Northern Ireland.
The PQ Partnership was originally formed in 1990, with the aim of establishing and delivering the arrangements for post qualifying education for professional social workers.
The PQ Partnership is made up of representatives from statutory, voluntary and provider organisations and educational institutions engaged in the provision of social work education and training.
The partnership approach has been proven as a very successful model for post-qualifying social work education in the UK and Ireland, achieving a high level of engagement from social workers and their employers.
Future developments may include a closer alignment between achievement at PQ level and continuing professional registration and also links to career progression.
For further details see the “About NIPQETP” and “Aims and Structure” sections.
